As the three-year contract between the University of South Africa (Unisa) and Intellimali comes to an end, the university has announced how it will be disbursing student allowances.
In a statement, Unisa confirmed that its agreement with service provider, Intellimali came to an end on 31 March 2022 due to administrative processes:
“Unisa’s Council has appointed Unisa Enterprise to provide the service of students allowance disbursements at the end of the Intellimali contract.”
The university’s management has taken the decision to ensure that students receive their allowances from Monday the 25th of April 2022.
IntelliMali, the service provider will be used as an interim solution until the end of June 2022, whilst interventions to implement the Unisa Enterprise solution are being finalised.
It has been reported that Unisa’s solution is to ensure that it complies with Unisa’s governance processes and that it does not disadvantage students.
In the meantime, the university has requested that students have active bank accounts as their allowances will be disbursed.
According to Unisa, students will be directed to a platform to capture their banking details.
